Windows Packet Filter Kit (WinpkFilter) is a high-performance packet filtering framework for Windows 9x/ME/NT/2000/XP/2003/Vista/2008/7/2008R2/8/2012/8.1/2012R2. It lets developers transparently filter, inspect, and modify raw network packets at the NDIS level with minimal system impact—no need to write low-level TDI or NDIS driver code.
With WinpkFilter, you can seamlessly insert your application into the Windows network packet flow to build custom firewall solutions, internet connection sharing (NAT), IP shapers, VPN tools, and other low-level networking systems fully in user-mode. It integrates smoothly with Visual C++, Delphi, Visual Basic, C++ Builder, and more. This makes it ideal for advanced network debugging, deep packet inspection, and secure network tunneling projects.
No kernel-mode experience is required thanks to a powerful user-level API, yet developers can optionally implement kernel-mode extensions for maximum performance using the base WinpkFilter driver code. The framework supports Dial-Up, Ethernet (LAN/WLAN), Cable/DSL modems using DHCP or PPPoE, and Mobile Broadband—making it suitable for enterprise networking, cloud infrastructure testing, and high-traffic networking applications.
