XFINITY Connect for OutlookStreamline Apple Mail with fast, automated SQLite optimization for smoother macOS performance
VacuumMail is an AppleScript utility that safely performs the “vacuum” command on Apple Mail’s underlying SQLite EnvelopeIndex database, helping optimize Apple Mail and boost macOS performance. Designed for both interactive use and automated mac maintenance routines, it ensures your database stays compact and efficient—ideal for users seeking an automated mac maintenance tool or scheduled system cleanup for Mac.
Before optimizing, VacuumMail checks whether Mail is running. If it is, the app gives you the option to quit Mail, completes the vacuum process, then restarts Mail automatically while reporting how much space was reclaimed. The included Launch Agent uses Apple’s launchd to schedule regular vacuuming, and you can customize it anytime with the bundled Lingon editor.
After installation, you’ll find VacuumMail and Lingon in /Applications/Utilities, and the Launch Agent in ~/Library/LaunchAgents. It’s easy to run manually, integrate into workflows, or add to your Finder toolbar—making it a reliable choice for users who want to optimize Apple Mail database performance and maintain a smoother macOS experience.
