VMware ACE (vmplayer.exe). VMware ACE 2.7.5 is a maintenance release that resolves some known issues.
VMware ACE 2.7.5 is a focused maintenance release designed to improve stability, performance, and compatibility across enterprise virtualization environments. This update introduces support for Ubuntu 11.04 as a guest operating system and delivers significant upgrades to the ACE Management Server (AMS). It’s ideal for organizations seeking an enterprise virtualization platform with better scalability and secure virtual machine management.
AMS servers now run on modern host platforms including RHEL 5.5 and SLES 10, while support for RHEL 4 and SLES 9 has been discontinued. The AMS appliance also transitions to CentOS 5.5 and adopts Apache 2.2.15 for improved reliability. These updates help streamline cloud infrastructure optimization and enhance long-term IT compliance automation.
This release also resolves key issues, including slow performance when loading large ACE instance lists in the Helpdesk Web UI and failures when importing large groups of activation keys. VMware ACE 2.7.5 now properly checks activation key limits, returns accurate error messages, and preserves older policy data to ensure seamless follow-up operations.
