The story follows a group of powerful warriors known as “zoanthropes,” humans who can transform into half-human, half-animal Beasts. Their greatest enemy is the Tylon Corporation, a secret underground organization determined to control zoanthropes and turn them into mind-controlled weapons. Praised for its originality and graphics, this classic arcade fighting game delivers a unique beast transformation combat experience, with mixed but memorable audio design.

Gameplay - King of Fighter: Bloody Roar
At the start of each stage, fighters are given a set amount of energy used to activate Beast Mode. Once the Beast Indicator charges and the letter “B” appears, players can transform at any time. When fully charged, the indicator displays “BEAST,” allowing instant activation through a dedicated button. This mechanic adds strategic depth to fast-paced 1v1 fighting action.

During Beast Mode, characters gain access to more fighting moves, increased weight, higher jumps, and a 3% recovery of life energy. The Beast Indicator turns yellow and drains as damage is taken. It does not recharge during the round, and once depleted, Beast Mode ends when hit by an effective enemy technique, creating intense and tactical battles.
